Umrah travel
Umrah flights, compared properly
The Pakistan to Saudi Arabia corridor is one of the busiest pilgrimage routes in the world, and it is also one of the easiest places to overpay: package sellers bundle mediocre fares, and prices between Jeddah and Madinah can differ more than people expect. This page does one thing: it compares every airline flying from Pakistan (and the UK) to Jeddah and Madinah, so the flight part of your Umrah is sorted honestly.

Three fare tricks that work on this corridor
Compare Jeddah AND Madinah, not just one
Open-jaw itineraries (into Madinah, out of Jeddah, or the reverse) often price the same as a simple return and save you a whole leg of ground travel. The Haramain train links the three cities fast.
Check AirSial and the direct Pakistani carriers
Direct Pakistan to Saudi flights from carriers like AirSial, PIA and Airblue often undercut the Gulf one-stops outside peak season, and they spare you a connection in Ihram.
Use the price calendar before you commit
Umrah dates are often more flexible than people assume. Shifting a week away from a school holiday or the start of Ramadan regularly halves the fare; every route page here has a 12 month calendar.
Frequently asked questions
Should I fly into Jeddah or Madinah?
Both work, and the smart move is often to compare them: land in Madinah, visit the Prophet’s Mosque first, travel to Makkah, and fly home from Jeddah (or the reverse). One-way fares into one city and out of the other are frequently no more expensive than a return, and the Haramain high-speed train connects Madinah, Jeddah and Makkah.
When are Umrah fares from Pakistan cheapest?
Outside Ramadan and the school holiday peaks. Ramadan, the weeks around both Eids and the Hajj season carry the highest fares and the fullest planes. If your dates are flexible, the months right after Hajj are usually the calmest and cheapest window. Exact Islamic calendar dates shift each year with moon sighting, so check the current year’s calendar when planning.
Where do I put on Ihram if my flight connects in Dubai, Doha or Istanbul?
The Miqat boundary is crossed in the air on the final leg into Saudi Arabia. Most pilgrims on connecting itineraries change into Ihram at the connecting airport before boarding the last flight, and the crew announces the Miqat before it is crossed. Direct flights from Pakistan announce it in the same way. If unsure, ask your airline; they handle this every day.
Do I need a package, or can I book flights myself?
Saudi Arabia has opened Umrah up considerably in recent years, and many travellers now arrange their own visa digitally, book flights and hotels separately, and skip the package markup. Requirements change, so verify the current visa rules for Pakistani passport holders (and for the passport you actually travel on) through official Saudi channels before booking anything non-refundable.
Which airlines fly direct from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia?
More than most people expect: PIA, Saudia, AirSial, Airblue and others operate direct flights from several Pakistani cities to Jeddah, Madinah and Riyadh, alongside one-stop options via the Gulf. Direct is not always cheaper, which is exactly why comparing pays on this corridor.
