Flights to Karachi from anywhere

Jinnah International is Pakistan’s largest airport and the country’s main business gateway, which gives Karachi a fare pattern of its own: heavy weekday Gulf traffic, and a much wider spread of prices than the Punjab airports. It is also the busiest cargo hub in the country, so schedules hold up well outside peak season.

Questions about this route

Why do Karachi fares behave differently from Lahore or Islamabad?
A large share of Karachi traffic is business travel to and from the Gulf rather than family travel from the UK and North America. That flattens the Eid and summer spikes somewhat, and makes midweek departures more competitive than they are on the Punjab routes.
Which airlines serve Karachi from the Gulf?
The Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Doha corridors are the densest, served by a mix of Pakistani carriers and the Gulf airlines. Because frequency is high, this is one of the few corridors where waiting for a better fare often works.
How long is the transfer into the city?
The airport is about 15 km from the centre, but Karachi traffic is unpredictable enough that it is worth allowing a lot more time than the distance suggests, particularly for an outbound flight.
